About the SpeakComputer project:
SpeakComputer Text to Speech software was initially developed for a private languages academy and was so successful with helping students learn English, it was voted unanimously by the owners to give licensed versions of the software away to all at no cost. Now everyone can enjoy the power of Text to Speech software for free.
The SpeakComputer Text to Speech software suite is comprised of 6 separate Text to Speech Text Readers.
The Text to Speech Reader is a simple yet powerful Text Reader that reads Text documents out aloud. You can also export documents to Mp3 files to play back on your Mp3 player. There is also an Echo Keys feature, that if enabled, the software will echo which key has just been pressed.
The Text to Speech Web Browser is a simple web browser that incorporates Text to Speech functionality. Open any web page and select any text and have the web browser read the selected text for you. Exporting to Mp3 is also supported. Note: For security reasons, the web browser is designed to attempt to read text only.
The Text to Speech Clipboard Reader also known as the Mini Speaker is a super little Text Reader. Its main purpose is to read text within the computers clipboard. This means that you can select any text from any application and click “Control + C” and the Clipboard Reader will read the text out aloud. Exporting the text to Mp3 is also supported.
The Text to Speech Appointment Reminders is a simple, yet powerful Appointment software with a basic and an easy to use design interface. You create appointments and the software will alert you prior to the appointment time using Text to Speech technology.
The Text to Speech Image Presentations software package allows you to create image presentations using various text to speech voices. Each image within your presentation can be assigned a separate Text to Speech voice. Image Presentation projects can be designed, previewed and shared with other.
The Text to Speech Clock announces time at a predefined interval and will also greet the logged on user. The greeting settings and time announcement settings can be reconfigured to the users needs.
Finally you have the Text to Speech Parental Controls feature. This feature can only be accessed by a user with administrative permissions. The Parental Controls feature, when enabled will replace swear words and any other controlled by the administrator with the appropriate replacement word. Currently the limitation of the Text to Speech Parental Controls is it only works with the Reader, Web Browser and the Clipboard Reader. With future versions we will ensure the Parental Controls work with all SpeakComputer Text to Speech packages.
